US-China trade deal is still uncertain and as a result stocks are showing signs of uncertainty.
Dow Jones lost 31 points shortly after market open with S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite falling 0.1%. Signs of progress between the US and China on trade helped the stocks pop up ending last week. Yet, investors noted on key issues like intellectual property have remained elusive which may cause the deal to collapse.
Adding to investor skepticism, publications in China measured tone in describing the preliminary agreement. In addition, the weekend talks of Brexit between European Union and British negotiators have come to make a deadline this week to reach a deal on Brexit which failed to yield a breakthrough.
To add to growth concerns, China released a report showing declining imports to the US.
